ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, we will introduce you to the foundational elements of government and public administration. We will review many of the essential characteristics of government, such as revenue collection, government expenditures, and government workforce. This chapter will also present an overview of the services that government provides and how those services affect citizens on a daily basis. Furthermore, we will construct a working definition of public administration and discuss key concepts that are essential to the field.
