ABSTRACT
Tourism can be regarded as a network industry par excellence, i.e. that destinations consist
of networks of tourism suppliers, which together create the tourism product. Research on
tourism networks is about collaboration and trust, network marketing, communication in
tourism destination networks, network forms of governance, networks and social capital
and networks as representations of complex systems (Scott et al., 2008, pp. 15-23).
