The pinnacle of sports is the event itself. Whether it is a match, a race, or a sequence of events that configure a larger one such as the Olympics, sports become real when the actual event takes place. Events range from organizing a children’s league or an amateur game at a local club to mega-events such as the FIFA World Cup or the Olympic Games that have more than a billion television viewers worldwide.
