ABSTRACT

Many stakeholders are themselves highly engaged in key aspects of the sporting world or are investing heavily to pursue their own interests by promoting higher levels of sports engage-ment by others. This chapter examines some select aspects of sports engagement to showcase the diverse areas that fall under this umbrella. We highlight how rapid advances in technology and the widespread embracing of digital tools are driving change in this area. Both the minefields and the opportunities of increased and more diverse sports engagement are examined.
