ABSTRACT
On the eve of Independence Day, 30 November 1967, the Federation of South Arabia was renamed ‘The People’s Republic of Southern Yemen’. The new Republic comprises the ex-British Crown Colony of Aden, and both the Western and Eastern Aden Protectorates together with the islands of Kamaran, Perim, Kuria Muria and Socotra.
