ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses the use of functional, but festively decorated gas masks. Tactical performance can serve as a force multiplier or a voice amplifier for social movements. It can help movements achieve nonviolent tactical surprise in public confrontations. The regime that has replaced Mubarak is repressive one, but there are still positive lessons to be learned from the brave example of Egyptian movement. They had been recognized as comrades in a global movement for human dignity and justice. The Black Lives Matter movement in the US was sparked by series of police killings of unarmed black men in 2014 and 2015, many of them documented on smart phone video cameras by onlookers. Recently, in Oakland, California, an affinity group of African American activists locked down in the West Oakland Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train station as part of a protest supporting this movement.
