ABSTRACT

The prohibition on cheating is an important part of sportsmanship, so the discussion of sports ethics and sportsmanship continues by considering what it means to cheat. What is cheating? Is it simply deliberately violating the rules of the game in order to gain an advantage? The participants consider various unclear examples of possible cheating, but Pat argues that they should look at clear cases, paradigm examples that will be helpful in generating an adequate definition of cheating.
