Is it unsportsmanlike to attempt to unsettle an opponent by trash talking? A discussion of the ethics of trash talking involves some important questions about the nature of competition. While many philosophers of sport believe that trash talking is contrary to sportsmanship, it’s a widespread practice in many sports.
