ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with the print output process. To obtain the best quality print output, it is important to have a good understanding of the Photoshop Print and system print dialog interfaces and how to configure the settings. There are also other issues addressed in this chapter, such as how to use soft proofing, and how to ensure the colors that one see on the display will be reproduced accurately in the final print. Rather than go into all the details about different print processes, the different ink sets and papers that can choose from, the chapter majorly concentrates on the essentials of inkjet printing. One of the most important things we need to do before making a print is to sharpen the image before we send it to the printer. Sharpening is a standard process and one that is dictated by the following factors, namely: the output process, the paper type used and finally, the output resolution.
