ABSTRACT
Giving the classroom back to my students has been one of the most significant changes author ever did in my educational journey, but it wasn't always smooth. The author faced many of these barriers but now love being in a district that has it as part of its vision. Wherever they are in our journey, or even if they haven't started, don't be discouraged by the barriers that may face. Reach out, connect with others who are on the same journey, and find the support the need to be successful. The author have experienced some affirmations and some humbling realizations: My dream-more and more realized every day-is to have a classroom where students make choices and always have a voice. The author used blogging as a way to take the pulse of my classroom on a regular basis, but one also have classroom meetings, surveys, and small conversations that allow students to express their opinion.
