ABSTRACT
Arran Stibbe, towards the end of his work on the emerging discipline of ecolinguistics, makes the following observation:
There is, however, a shortage of voices, in this book and in ecolinguistics in general, from traditional and indigenous cultures around the world. Within these cultures are a great multitude of stories, some of which may be invaluable in the reinvention of self and society in the transition to new ways of living and being.
