ABSTRACT

Principals are constantly making decisions. Competing interests and ambiguities make many decisions difficult. The solution to one problem can spawn a dozen more, seemingly minor decisions can become the building blocks of a new school culture, and it can feel as if a principal is drowning in minutiae. While many decisions need to be made quickly and efficiently by the principal alone, others need more deliberation and wider participation.
