We are unhappy, in a word, only when we do not seek our supreme good.

How can such unhappiness be accounted an evil ?

(9) The ideas which men form of God cannot be wholly true ; but neither can they be altogether false. For instance ; human justice and goodness are not God’s ; nor is God’s justice or goodness wholly different from man’s.
