ABSTRACT
From the end of the Kokoda Trail advance patrols of Japanese actually looked down on Port Moresby and felt the excitement of seeing the final objective within their grasp. At Ioribaiwa, General Horii built elaborate defensive positions for repelling any Allied attack while he waited for the final order to advance on Moresby, and the spirits of the Japanese were high.
