ABSTRACT

The answers become the evidence that allows educators to make data-driven decisions. For teachers, when data are mentioned, they usually mean information that focuses on what is being done in the classroom. Teachers may look at assessment data to make instructional delivery decisions for individual students, for example. For leaders, the gathering of data, or evidence, is done for an array of reasons, such as improving teacher success, student academics, and safety procedures at the campus. Therefore, finding the answer to that question encourages evidence to be sought to answer the question. This chapter is for the educator on the go with nine topics presented with at least two mini-scenarios that focus on each topic. This chapter discusses the variables presented in each mini-scenario, then using the information that is presented. These mini-scenarios are to help you to start thinking about possible events that may force you to think on your feet and to employ action that is necessary.
