ABSTRACT
Introduction Between the collapse of socialism in 1989/1990 and the mid-2000s, Hungary experienced a series of governments with very different positions on the political spectrum. In 2006, a left-wing government came to power, but in 2010 a rightwing party (Fidesz) achieved a landslide victory and two-thirds majority in parliament, a success that it replicated in 2014.
