ABSTRACT
218This chapter discusses the continuing relevance of traditional materials and methods and outlines areas providing the greatest potential for their advancement. Examples are used to demonstrate how programs and initiatives supporting advocacy, integrating local resource and production systems, education, standardization, rehabilitation and revitalization can be used to promote and advance traditional materials and methods.
