The Structure of Consciousness

Sir Francis Walshe, in whose honor this essay was first published, ¹ has often spoken of the inadequacy of anatomic structures to account for the full range of mental actions; he insisted on the presence of integrative mental powers not explicable in these terms. Toward the end of this paper I shall give reasons supporting this view.
