ABSTRACT

This chapter reflects on the management of conflict, acceptance and integration issues that business partners face. The process and methods of acceptance will support the integration of team norms for all team members. In any conflicted position both parties are part of the initial problem and also the on-going solution towards integrated acceptance. In reviewing and analysing any potential conflict areas, the level and degree of potential acceptance or disagreement will vary. Confirmation of acceptance is the end goal that both parties should seek to achieve. The assimilation position is where new information and knowledge is understood and this supports movement between or to new positions, either towards disagreement or acceptance positions. The acceptance may be implied, and integrated acceptance may not be clearly expressed or documented, but the intent to consent to the presented conditions have been discussed and accepted, a handshake.
