ABSTRACT

239In the previous chapter I introduced you to stress management strategies that operate within the psychological or spiritual domain. The strategies in this chapter work at a physical level. The division is not quite as clear as it sounds, since many of the psychological techniques described earlier promote physical changes, just as those described here have strong psychological effects as well. In fact, many of the techniques in this chapter, such as yoga and tai chi, can also be called mind–body exercises since they attempt to unify the body, mind, and spirit.
