ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights some well-known leaders who reformed their ambition after accepting the course of the circumstances. It considers some examples of well-known people who found a balance in implementing ambition and acceptance qualities, and thanks to that, earned respect and following among large groups of people. Early on in his life, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela developed the ambition to embark on a journey of education in order to make a difference beyond the boundaries of his village. As a young law student, Mandela became disturbed by the discriminatory white minority regime in South Africa, and joined the African National Congress (ANC). Upon establishing their law firm, Millard Fuller and Morris Dees sustained their money-gathering mentality: they only took the most lucrative cases, and on the side, sold everything they could, from tractors to cookbooks and more. Steve Jobs is especially known for his affiliation to Apple, one of the world's most valuable companies.
