ABSTRACT

The war against match-fixers is being lost. Part of the reason for the defeat is that the anti-match-fixing industry is drowning in nonsense – nonsense that is being propagated by a mixture of commercial agendas, professional conflicts of interest and ignorance. This chapter will do two things: first, it will show the real situation of current-day match-fixing; second, it will explain some of the key mistakes in contemporary research into match-fixing.
