ABSTRACT

The activities in this chapter are written for middle school classrooms, with modifications suggested throughout students with exceptionalities. These activities are designed to be included in your classroom POP Chart in the “SOCIAL: Cool Down and Focus” quadrant. As they are practiced in a group setting, these SOCIAL: Cool Down and Focus activities are designed to engage students interpersonally and center their energy through reflection and relaxation. After each activity has been taught, it should be added to the POP Chart, so you can utilize it any time throughout the day when your class needs to focus and get In the Zone.
