ABSTRACT

If you were asked to list police tasks as they are portrayed in the media, you would probably think only of those that are closely related to apprehending criminal oenders. ese are the tasks on which YouTube videos, television shows, and movies focus. ey are certainly the most exciting and interesting tasks that police ocers perform, yet they represent only a small percentage of what police actually do. Who would want to watch a video about directing trac, planning, or maintaining police vehicles? Despite the relatively uninteresting nature of these and many other kinds of tasks, however, police organizations depend on them in order to accomplish their goals and objectives.
