ABSTRACT

Thousands of college students across the United States study electronic media to prepare for careers in radio, television, cable, satellite, and the film industry. Most of them have selected electronic media as a major because they believe that a career in this field will be creative and exciting. Others enter the field in the hope of achieving fame, success, and perhaps wealth. Some students study electronic media simply because they have been entertained by it most of their lives, and still others feel that they can create programming that is at least as entertaining as what is available now.
