ABSTRACT

The winter season lends itself to many ways to connect with classes all over the world to talk about climate and weather conditions. Math and science activities can include movement of the Earth, temperature, wind chill, precipitation, composition of snow, amount of snow, lake-effect snow, polar vortex, and animals’ hibernation and movement during winter. Compare the winter activities you enjoy doing with the activities of students in other areas of this country and around the world. What would be interesting is connecting with classes who have the opposite seasons. For example the Australian seasons are opposite of those in the northern hemisphere.
