ABSTRACT

The EU association agreement designs to open both Ukrainian and European markets to easier goods and services movements and potentially lowers visa restrictions for travelers between Ukraine and European countries. The Ukrainian government establishes the National Agency of Ukraine for Battling Corruption. Russian channel laments that the West supports Nazis in Kiev and ignoring war crimes committed by fascists in Ukraine. During the Soviet time, Crimea stayed a part of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) until 1954, when the Communist Party Secretary General Nikita Khrushchev gifted Crimea to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The Eastern Ukrainian separatist movement perceives Russia as activists to liberate Donetsk, Kharkov, and Luhansk from the Right Sector militants. NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen denies the plans of expanding NATO's military presence in Eastern Europe in response to the Ukraine conflict. Russia needs Ukraine for oil and gas transit to Western Europe, and Ukraine needs Russia for transit fee revenues and natural gas supply.
