The chapter presents a few moments and conversations between the head Jussac and D'Artagnan during the war time in barren spot. It talks about victorious moments and explains how D'Artagnan reacted during that moment. D'Artagnan always felt no fear during war, and fought with the agility of a tiger, springing at his antagonist from every side, and changing his ground and his guard twenty times a minute. Courage always wins respect, even in an enemy. The Musketeers had given Bicarat a military salute and returned their swords to the scabbards when they were started war. D'Artagnan followed the same. Then with Bicarat's help, he carried Cahusac and the guard that Aramis had wounded to the porch of the monastery. At that time, D'Artagnan was in the heaven of delight as he marched down the street between Athos and Porthos.
