ABSTRACT
We live in an age that tends to treat the most innocent phenomenon as a “problem” to be “solved” by “public policy,” which means the intrusive machinery of the state. So it has proven with the “wage gap” separating men and women—it is touted by feminists as one more proof of the oppressiveness of Western society and the inequitability of the free market.
