Research as Protection: Visual Identity Audits
Pages 13

Just as research is a necessary tool in the development of an organization’s visual identity, it can also provide an opportunity to review-and in some cases, protect-the larger, mass effects of the visual identity. This type of primary research is referred to as a visual identity audit. By taking a comprehensive view of the ways in which the visual identity is projected to stakeholders and also perceived by them, a visual identity audit helps an organization to more fully understand the internal and external environments in which its visual identity exists.
