ABSTRACT

Pen name of Sun Gui-zhen. Yi Lei was sent to the countryside to work on a farm upon graduating from middle school in 1969. Two years later she was a reporter for the Liberation Army as well as a staff member of the newspaper The Railway Corps. A talented, innovative poet, Yi Lei writes poetry that shows her modern sensibility as well as her daring experimentation. Her publications include four books of poetry: The Flames of Love, Love's Formula, Bedroom of a Single Woman, and Love Poems of Yi Lei. I don't know when I lost myself I'm panic-stricken, I am fully armed to find myself everywhere I find things I have thrown away rusted poems morals in decay wilted love letters and many unexpected windfalls only there are no footprints roads. On the grassy slope where the sun does a somersault we eat fish cooked in five spices we eat your short stubby beard.
