ABSTRACT

A native of Sichuan Province, Chen Jingrong started publishing her prose and poems in 1935. When war broke out with the Japanese in 1937, she was very active in the National Literary League to Resist the Enemy. In 1948 Chen founded the poetry monthly Chinese New Poetry with her friends. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Chen was engaged in legal affairs. In 1956 she was transferred to work for the Chinese Writers' Association. Subsequently she served as editor of such publications as World Literature and People's Literature. Her books of poems include A Symphonic Collection, A Brimming Collection, and The Age That Is Time.
