ABSTRACT
Pen name of Li Qingxuan. A native of Shangdong, Xiang Lin received her BA in English literature from the Chinese Cultural University in Taiwan. She has taught English at various universities in Taiwan. Most of her works, both poetry and prose, were published in literary journals and newspapers in Taiwan in the 1980s. Zhong Ling, in her book on women poets, has classified Xiang Ling together with poets such as Hu Pingqing, Wang Yu, and Gu Yue as the faithful keepers of the feminine tradition of Chinese lyric poetry. Xiang's poetry has been admired for its classical grace and restraint. She now resides in the United States.
