A native of Yanting County in Sichuan, Wang Erbei started publishing poems and prose poems in newspapers and magazines when she was twenty years old. Since her graduation from the Beijing Journalism School in 1951, she has served as both a journalist and an editor for a Sichuan newspaper. She retired from her work in 1986.
