ABSTRACT

A keynote of the latter half of the 1970s and of the 1980s to date is the continuing concern shown by the Soviet government and the Communist Party for the working woman. The Constitution adopted in 1977 not only gave legislative affirmation to the equal rights of men and women, but also provided for the creation of new opportunities for the sexes to achieve social equality, and for suitable ways to combine the occupational, familial/domestic, and maternal roles of women.
