ABSTRACT
The China League for the Protection of Civil Rights calls on the Chinese people to rise and to strive to realize the freedom of the press, the freedoms of assembly and association and all interests genuine civil rights, and to fight against all censorship and prohibitions. The League was founded in Shanghai toward the end of 1932 on the initiative of Song Qingling, Cai Yuanpei, Yang Xingfo, Lin Yutang, and others. The propose of the establishment of the China League for the Protection of Civil Rights. All progressive countries have international organizations to the protection of civil rights, such as the organizations led by Albert Einstein, Jueleisai, John Dewey, Bertrand Russell and Roman Roland. The most important purpose of this kind of organization is to protect the freedoms of thought and society that are needed for human life and for social progress.
