ABSTRACT
One way to structure a world history course is to consider not only the story of civilizations but also the history of nomadic pastoralists, their migrations and impact on sedentary peoples. Using a variety of sources, Helen Grady teaches a unit on the Mongols of the premodern era. As a culminating evaluation for this module on the Mongols, students are asked to assess the role of the Mongols in world history.
