ABSTRACT
It does not matter if one is a novice teacher or a veteran teacher. For the world history teacher, historiography drives the course. Every decision teachers make in what they choose to incorporate or disregard in their curriculum is based on historiography. Whether the teacher is cognizant of this reason does not matter: it is a simple fact. Many states have standards for world history courses, and these, too, are driven by a much larger historiographical debate.
