ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on questions to guide the selection of suitable methods for a range of research questions. It provides few aspects of the research and publication processes that reinforce barriers to greater discussion across the epistemological divide. And in keeping with the overall constructivist claim that structure and agency constitute each other, the book suggests a few strategic adaptations and potential reforms that might reduce those barriers. The book shows that the question of standards for evaluating scholarship. It explains that methods at the other end of the epistemological spectrum, specifically those that employ quantitative measures, are antithetical to constructivism. Combining methods to explore compelling issues from a variety of standpoints can lead to fruitful insights - but it is not always easy to get such work published.
