ABSTRACT
The power that nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) possess on the global scene is becoming more noticeable with each passing year. In many realms-including fields as diverse as humanitarian assistance, development assistance for poverty reduction, peace and security, human rights, the environment, national and international governance and accountability, and corporate social responsibility-NGOs collectively have become a powerhouse, utilizing expert knowledge, analytical skills, financial muscle, media savvy, and public education capacities.
