ABSTRACT
Serge P. Petroff was bom in Harbin, China, into a family of Russian émigrés who fled Russia in 1922. He grew up in Japan and the United States and has had a career as a business executive and historian. The author of a book about the late Communist Party ideologist Mikhail Suslov, he is currently completing research on the Russian Civil War. Petroff has visited Russia many times and is promoting U.S.-Russian business contacts.
