While every book has an ending, Recall! remains a work in progress. True enough, the decision of the voters to remove Gray Davis from the governorship and replace him with Arnold Schwarzenegger closed the book on the Davis administration. Yet, the decisions made on October 7 seemed to invite countless questions on October 8 and each day after that. Would Schwarzenegger be able to transform his successful appeal from a campaign mode to a governing mode? Would the new Republican governor and the Democratic legislature be able to succeed where a Democratic governor and Democratic legislature had failed? Would the voters be satisfied with the actions of the new leadership set, or would they want more?
