ABSTRACT
In Israeli Visions and Divisions (Aronoff, 1989), I analyze the current crisis of legitimacy in the Israeli political system. It is not my purpose to recapitulate or even to elaborate on that theme here. However, I think it is essential to state briefly the main thesis, since it provides the point of departure as well as the context in which I discuss the most important dilemmas facing the Labor Party today.
