Agriculture Agriculture is a key source of livelihood for many indigenous peoples, as they use the resources that are located on their lands to meet their needs. Across the globe, indigenous people have developed agroforestry systems and practices for land use, soil and water management, and environmental conservation. These traditional practices encompass methods of cultivation, food collecting, and harvesting crops, all of which are essential to many native peoples’ survival. Plants also remain a traditional source of medicine among many native groups.
