ABSTRACT

One of the most prominent Greek mathematicians and teachers, considered by many the “father of geometry.” A mysterious figure about whom little is known for certain, Euclid collated, refined, and clarified the mathematical developments of several hundred years in his best-known work, The Elements. This book became the most influential mathematics textbook in history and an all-time best seller; its system of logical proof revolutionized mathematics and opened the door to many later discoveries.
