ABSTRACT
A favorite cartoon of mine depicts a young man in front of his boss’s desk. The boss says something to the effect of “You want to go far with the company; we have decided to open an office in Tibet.” Another portrays Santa Claus announcing to his elves that he has decided to relocate to Taiwan. Dilbert has a great series on a subsidiary in the fictitious “Elbonia,” and the experiences of expatriates sent there.
