ABSTRACT
The first oil crisis of 1973 inflicted a deadly blow on the economics of the advanced industrializing nations that had depended on the supply of cheap oil. As we saw in Chapter 9, this led to the formation in 1975 of the Group of Seven Economic Surnmit Meetings to advance the economic prosperity of the free-world nations.
