ABSTRACT
Located in the South Pacific, Borneo sits near Sumatra to the west and the Philippines to the northeast. The island, comprised of the countries Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia, has one of the largest contiguous protected tropical forests in the world. The Heart of the Borneo Forest spans 85,000 square miles (220,150 square kilometers).
