ABSTRACT
The celebration of Halloween no doubt will continue its evolution, especially in areas such as the Southwest, where the influence of the Mexican feast of the Day of the Dead is changing the way that both holidays are celebrated. Recent years have also seen an upsurge in the adult observance of Halloween and the rebirth of the Halloween party. Today, Halloween is the second largest commercial holiday in America, surpassed only by Christmas.
