ABSTRACT
The skills needed to write effective rules are similar to those needed to write the other public sector documents we discuss in this book, but some differences also exist. In addition, the whole concept of rule writing differs from some of the more familiar projects we see in the public sector. In this chapter we first explain what a rule is and what kinds of rules exist. We then describe how to write them effectively.
